RELOCATING TO A NEW SHOP
Doughnotts are fast approaching their 10 year anniversary and the new shop would mark their third city centre move. Co. owners; Megan and Wade have decided to relocate their Nottingham store from King Street, to Cheapside, on the side of the Council House.
Doughnotts approached us to assist with producing and installing some temporary 'Coming Soon' vinyls while the magic happened behind the scenes. In the space of three weeks they revamped the inside of the shop and we're then in a position to instruct John E Wright and Co Ltd to commence on phase two; which was the shop signage...not forgetting the removal of the 'Coming soon' vinyls, so passers-by's can get their first look into the new shop.
WE'LL PROVIDE THE SPRINKLES ON TOP
The Doughnotts Bakery are in fact our next door neighbours at our Linkmel branch in Nottingham, but this isn't the reason why we are quick to respond to last minute requests and emergencies. Over the years, we have worked very closely together and gained a great working relationship from one project to another - which has led to a great understanding of the brand and their goals.
One of the challenges we face when branding shops alike, is that we generally are the last process to enter the premises. The actual deadline/open day rarely changes, so time can be squeezed somewhat. Being proactive and ready to jump in at any given time is definitely something we are good at.
The shops location is adjacent to Nottingham Tram lines, so having staff trained for these environments is very important, especially for their own safety and others. For this particular project; we minimised risk by working out of hours to avoid peak footfall and advised the customer that the 'Coming Soon' vinyls we're to be applied internally, opposed to externally, again for risk aversion reasons.
The shops fascia logo was produced from 10mm white acrylic with locators fixed to the reverse, this allows the letters to stand off from the painted back panel
The portrait wall pieces were printed direct to 10mm Foamex and fixed with split battens to the reverse to give them a proud appearance
A simple frosted vinyl manifestation was also applied to the front windows for privacy.
It would be rude not to support the small local business, so we joined the long queue at 9am of the shop opening and of course bought enough doughnuts for our staff and then some!
